Ice Show Committees
*Denotes chair position that will have committee members to assist
Music Booth
- Most important! Can’t have a show without it. Play music either by CD or from a laptop - whatever the set
up. Learn the system during show practices and play for Dress rehearsal and the show.
*Costumes – meet. Measure skaters,
design and construct show costumes for the skaters based on the direction of the coaches and show committee chair. If you love
to sew, this is the event for you, but the ability to sew is not required for many costumes. We need fabric and other patterns
cut out, gems and glitter glued on etc.
*Locker
room supervisors – Just as the name states. Make sure skaters are ready and together for their group numbers on day of dress
rehearsal and day of show. Make sure locker rooms are staffed with parents. Prior to dress rehearsal and show, make sure
all signs and notices are on locker room doors.
Video / Pictures – Arrange show pictures. Arrange and/or participate in video taping of the show. Work to have show broadcasted under public broadcasting station.
Runners - (bring your track shoes) Transport test papers from the judges to the test chair. Distribute
test papers under the direction of the test chair.
Hospitality – Help make the judges feel at home. Organize and
attend to the judge’s room, Includes meal planning, setting up the day before test, checking supplies, having coffee available first
thing in the morning the day of test.
Announcers / Music - announce the test and the skaters’ name. Make announcements
as directed by the judges and test committee chair. (I.e. Re-skate, ice resurface, etc...). Play skaters music for test - located
in the music box with a heater and a front row seat. Will have a clipboard with a schedule and all the information to read from.
Competition
Only Needs
Table – Register skaters, assist skaters with the completion schedule. Sign in skater’s music. Take money
for the raffle and present prizes to raffle winners.
Awards – Announce and present awards to skaters.
Monitors –
Check-in skaters at rink side for each event flight.
Prize Donations / Fund Raising – Send letters and approach local
business for raffle prize donations as directed by competition chair and skating board.
Setup and tear down – prepare
arena for the competition, set up tables, judge’s room, etc. Clean up at the conclusion of the event. Setup begins Friday
evening with clean up late afternoon on Sunday at completion of the competition.
Basic Skills Competition
Runners – transport
(run) papers to and from the judges.
Table – Register skaters, assist skaters with the completion schedule. Sign
in skater’s music. Take moneys for flowers and other items for sale.
Announcers / Music – announce the event and
the skaters name and element to be skated. Make announcements as directed by the competition chair. (I.e. Re-skate, ice resurface,
etc...). Play skaters music for competition - located in the music box with a heater and a front row seat. Will have a
clipboard with a schedule and all the information to read from.
Awards – Announce and present awards to skaters.
Monitors – Check-in skaters at rink side for each event flight.
*Please understand that while you can choose an
area of the event that you are most interested in, committee members may have to staff different areas as needed to ensure a successful
event.

know your Club and Ice Skating on a deeper level and be part of making decisions for the good of all of our skaters!
Board members
meet once a month and take on various needed Chair positions. For more information please see the Board Members section of the
Policies Handbook and the MFSC Bylaws.
Northern Interclub Council
Represent our Club at meetings in which delegates from
surrounding area Clubs get together to discuss Club needs, Governing Body rule changes etc. This Volunteer position is recommended
for those more serious about the sport of Figure Skating and assisting our skaters with their goals. Interested parties may
